No Ride September 2 -- Need Some Ride Leaders

Hello Summit Bikers,

There will be no bike ride September 2, as it is Labor Day, and the bike paths will be very busy.  I suggest staying off of bike paths until after Labor Day.  Last weekend I was at top of Vail Pass and some of the largest groups of downhill only riders were preparing to come down.  They will be everywhere in the County.

We need some volunteers to lead rides until the end of the season.  Please contact me at Bikebreck@yahoo.com.  Do not reply to Summit Biking.

Road Bike Ride August 26

Hello Summit Bikers,

Next Mondays ride (August 26) will be starting at Georgetown at 10 am.

Date:  8/26

Origin:  Georgetown Visitor Center

Directions:  Take Exit 228 off I 70

Parking:  Park along Argentine Rd just past Visitor Center. They have asked us NOT to park

               in visitor center parking lot

Routes:  G-town to Loveland ski area

               Guanella Pass

               Time:  10:00am

Post Ride:  There are picnic tables on the West end of the Visitor Center Parking Lot.  Please bring something to share, as well as sandwich and a drink.  There are bathrooms as well as water inside the Visitor's Center.  You may want to give your dish to others prior to the ride if you are riding Guanella Pass, as the ride takes a while to complete.

There will be no ride the following week (September 2).  Traditionally we do not ride on holiday weekends due to the large number of visitors in town.
