Bike Ride September 28

Hello Summit Bikers,

The following rules will be in effect to future notice.

-- Everyone must have a buff or face mask. Anyone not having a buff or face mask will not be permitted to ride with the group. These need to be worn at the start and until there is a separation of at least 6 feet.

-- We will verify that we have a waiver signed from all participants and if not require one to be completed prior to riding. Most members did this when they paid their dues. We will have waivers available for those who did not or prospective riders who have not joined.

-- Riders need be at least 6 feet apart, maintaining social distancing.

-- Groups should be 10 or fewer.

Our ride September 28 will be to Vail Pass from the Dillon Amphitheater parking lot.  This is a change from the published ride, since we sis Ute Pass last weekend. With the trees changing the ride through Ten Mile Canyon is well worth the effort. Due to the cold weather expected we will begin the ride at 10:30 to 10:45.

People are free to bring a lunch to have after the ride. Please be sure to socially distance.

This will be my last ride of the season. Hopefully others will lead a few more. It has been a pleasure to organize the rides this season.

Hope to see you there.

Ride Safe,

John Bowyer

Bike Ride September 21

The ride September 21 is to Ute Pass. This is a change from the posted schedule, since we did Georgetown this week. There will be two starting points; North Pond in Silverthorne starting at 8:45 am (faster group perhaps with pace line) or from the bottom of Ute Pass road at 9:30 am (where Ute Pass intersects Route 9). I plan to leave from Silverthorne, so if I am not at the bottom of Ute Pass at that start go without me. Ute Pass Road is North of Silverthorne about 7 miles past North Pond.

People are free to bring a lunch to have after the ride at North Pond. Please be sure to socially distance.

Hope to see you there.

Bike Ride September 14

Hello Summit Bikers,

Our bike ride September 14 has been changed from what was originally scheduled and will be from Georgetown.

Please do not stop in groups and socialize, without masks and social distancing.

Next weeks ride, September 14, has several options, including Guanella Pass, Loveland Ski Area or Idaho Springs.  Be ready to ride at between 9:45 and 10 am from next to the Georgetown Visitor Center along Argentine Road (take exit 228 off I 70).  Parking is available along Argentine Road as the visitor center asked us not to take up all their parking.  As there are several picnic benches close to the visitor center anyone wanting to bring a sandwich to enjoy afterwards, feel free. Just remember to socially distance and wear masks when appropriate. The road to Guanella Pass has been chipped sealed and is rough to ride down.

Ride safe!

Subject: [Summit-Mountain-Biking] Bike suitcase?
Hi Gang,

I'd like to get my road bike to the East Coast.  Does anyone have a bike suitcase I can borrow or rent for a few weeks?

It will be empty for the return flight...

Thanks.
