Monday June 17 Ride from Dillon Amphitheater (Choose your own adventure)

Hi Summit Bikers,

The published ride for Monday is "Glorious Boreas", but since we have not had a volunteer to lead this ride, we will have a "choose your own adventure" ride starting from the Dillon Amphitheater at 9:30 where we are more familiar with the routes.

Options:

1. Ride the rec path to Sapphire Point and back (we were hoping for good news about the Swan Mountain side being open...according to the Summit Daily, the road could be open to the public on August 17.  If so, ride around the lake!!! )
2. Ride to Montezuma, A-Basin, or Loveland Pass.
3. If you have Ride With GPS app, you could do Tour de Soda, which goes to Keystone then wanders up to Keystone Ranch Road and the Summit Cove neighborhood.   Gpx tracks below.

Unless Swan Mountain Road is open, I will probably ride Tour de Soda.

There will not be a picnic lunch afterwards.  Lunches have been very poorly attended. We hope for a better turnout next week at West Vail Pass.

Group Ride August 10

Hello Summit Bikers, Next week's ride, August 10 is either to Copper or Vail Pass starting at the Dillon Amphitheater parking lot.  Be at the parking lot by 9:20 so we are all ready to roll by 9:30. A picnic will follow around noon, so plan to be back by then.  Bring something to eat and a dish to share with your friends, as well as what you would like to drink.  Remember to bring those name tags and mingle with others at the picnic.  Be cautious riding Vail Pass as there are many downhill people taking the shuttles up.  In addition, use hand signals, and keep others informed when passing.  With our ride leader out for the remainder of the season, it is important that some of you step up to lead a ride.  Leading is not difficult, emails from previous rides are available in our blog.  Meeting, identifying new people, and getting the group moving are the important tasks of the leaders.  So simple, even I can do it!  Talk to either Polly or Roberta to find out more.
