May 23 Bike Ride
Riders are encouraged to use hand signals, so others are aware of turns, stops and road obstacles. Riders are encouraged to wear name tags since there are many new people. Any name tag will do as long as it shows your name.
Ride safe and have fun!

Annual Polar Bear Hike / Bike
Whoopee - we're planning to do a 23nd Annual New Year's Eve Polar Bear (mountain) Bike & Hike exercise/eating fest a tradition started by Bob Guthrie a long time ago. Pretty much the same as always - Les Clarke will act as the canary pre riding the route & leading the Mountain Bikers to Bob's memorial rock with the Hikers doing an out and back on the bike path towards Summit Cove and back. Nancy Kaufman has agreed to keep the hikers under control and make sure no one gets lost.
This year's event will be on Friday, December 31, 2019. Meet at the Dillon Town Hall parking lot on Lake Dillon Drive at 10:00 a.m. Usually, the recpath is plowed from Dillon to Swan Mountain Road, but mountain bikes are a must, helmets are required (suggest ski helmet) and obviously, dress for winter.
Be there - tell your friends who may not be on this list.
Thanks!

Help Support Challenged Athletes
In honor of our dear friend Jon Kreamelmeyer from Frisco Colorado, please join me in my efforts as I ride 640 miles in 7 days from San Francisco to San Diego in the Million Dollar Challenge, October 15 - 22, to raise $1,500,000+ to support the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF).
Jon was a very successful Summit School Nordic Coach, as well as the Coach of the US Paralympic Nordic Team for which he was recognized as an honoree and elected to the Paralympic Hall of Fame and has been on the board ever since. He is now facing his own journey as a challenged athlete.
The CAF helps people with physical challenges pursue an active lifestyle through physical fitness and athletics. CAF's mission is to give those with the desire to live active, competitive lifestyles every opportunity to compete in the sports they love. Meet Willie Stewart, an athlete Jon has coached. https://www.challengedathletes.org/athletes/willie-stewart/
If you watched any of the recent Paralympic Games from Tokyo you saw the CAF in-action, supporting many of these proud Olympians. In fact, if the CAF was a country, they would have achieved 6th place in the medal count!
https://www.challengedathletes.org/caf-paralympians-tokyo
In 2021 alone, 3,038 grants were distributed totaling $5,100,000 to support athletes ranging from Paralympic athletes to first-time applicants.

CAF is a world leader that has helped over 26,000 individuals with physical challenges get access to sports since 1994.
Please join me in contributing to an impactful organization so people like Jon and the many he has coached can continue to live full lives. Every donation, small or large, makes a difference! Please click on the link below to go directly to my donation page. My goal is to raise $12,500.
