The following is from an Iowa friend quoting a paragraph from an Adventure Cycling publication called bikebits:
BIKE THE ROCKIES... IN IOWA!
Here's another one from Biking Bits, this one perhaps even more surprising than the National Park Service reaching out to cyclists: This summer's seven-day Register's Great Bike Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI) has a nearly identical amount of climbing as this summer's six-day Denver Post Ride the Rockies--both coming in at more than 21,000 feet of elevation gain!
And they say Iowa is flat.
