Dear John,
Want to improve bike trails in Summit County?
On Tuesday Nov. 5, residents will vote on Measure 1B – an initiative that would renew the current property tax rate and continue to allocate revenue to Summit County Open Space. This department manages the acquisition and maintenance of open space, natural areas and trails where residents and visitors can bike ride.
Summit County maintains approximately 45 miles of natural surface trails and 40 miles of dirt roads; and manages more than 100 trailheads and local trail portals that connect to a diverse trail system throughout the county.
This measure will not result in increased property taxes for residents and is predicted to generate $2.5 million for Summit County Open Space.
Polls close at 7 p.m. on Nov. 5. Cast your vote at any of these locations:
- Breckenridge - Old County Courthouse
- Frisco - Community and Senior Center
- Silverthorne - Silverthorne Pavilion
Stay up to date on this measure by using our ballot tracker. Together we can make bike riding better!

Fw: Nov. 5: Help fund bike trails in Summit County
Have to think about biking year round. I am in Arizona still riding and hiking, waiting for the snow base to build up.
Ski safe!
