June 18 Bike Ride

Hello Summit Bikers,

Monday's ride (June 18) will be to either Montezuma or Loveland Pass, starting at 9:30 am from Town Park in Dillon.  Town Park is located on Buffalo Street in Dillon. To get there turn right at the stop light where route 6 and Lake Dillon Drive meet.  Town Park is located on the left next to Town Hall, across from Lake Dillon Theater.  Parking is available in a lot next to Town Hall as well as along Lake Dillon Drive.  There will be a grill to use after the ride (around noon) so bring something to fix for lunch as well as something to drink as well as something to share with your friends.  (Dillon tells me that the amphitheater parking lot project may or not be complete, which is why we are not using that area.)  Both of these rodes are along roads so use caution and ride single file.  For those who do not want to ride on the road take the bike path over the dam towards Frisco and then towards Breckenridge.

Other rides occurring this week (and throughout the summer) that you may want to participate in are offered by Team Managers and Podium Sports. Team Managers (across from the Holiday Inn in Frisco) has a 5 pm ride led by Brad the shop's bike tech and will go where the group wants. Another ride takes place Sunday at Podium Sports in Frisco (corner of Main Street and Route 9) at 10 am. Podium may do more than one ride if the numbers justify additional routes. Both of these shops offer discounts to Summit Biking members (see our web site for details), support the Bob Guthrie Ride and said they are happy to have our members along for the rides.

Today was also the kick off day for additional rides to be held by Summit Bikers on Wednesday and Fridays.  Regular postings for these rides will be made starting June 27.  Al Wambach is coordinating this effort for us (alwambach@gmail.com) or  610-613-1390.
